Our Restaurants
There are three first class restaurants all within the hotel grounds.
The Janek Aben Restaurant is fully air conditioned and located in the central complex. It is open for breakfast from 0630 daily and can be booked for luncheon and evening functions.
The famous Haus Win Restaurant is in the process of being rebuilt. Construction began in April 2011 on the new complex in two stages. Stage 1 was to construct an entirely new Function Room overlooking the swimming pool, Dallman Passage, Krangket Island and in the distance Kar Kar Island. The function room most likely will be called 'Kalau Grove" will be air conditioned with outside balconies. It will be used as the main restaurant whilst Stage 2 ireplaces the existing Haus Win which will feature saltwater aquariums where live reef, sealife will seperate the dining area from the lounge. The total capacity will seat 250 persons and provide Western, Chinese and Japanese menus plus the famous Madang Resort Pizzas. The official opening is anticipated to take place in early October 2011.
The Rakuen Restaurant is located in the Haus Win and open upon demand. Rakuen provides fantastically fresh and authentic Teppanyaki, Sushi, Tempura style food for a select few, so bookings are absolutely essential. Rounding out the experience are three bars including the newly finished 'Milek Aben Club Bar'.
Special functions can be arranged in any of the restaurants, poolside, in the garden aboard the Kalibobo Spirit or under a marquee at Forum Park.
The Sana Room is available for formal dinner functions as a ball room that can cater from 20 – 400 in air conditioned comfort with stage, lighting, PA system, audio visual equipment and access to private bathrooms. All restaurants have grand pianos and the resident musicians and string bands can provide dinner music.
The Madang Resort and Kalibobo Village are a “POKER FREE ZONE” no poker machines!
The Madang Resort can provide outside catering at home, in the factory or on site for up to 1000 people. Our speciality is a traditional mumu and tropical feast at Forum Park or on an Island in the beautiful Madang Harbour.
