The Sana Convention Rooms at the Madang Resort Convention facilities provide the best conference facilities in Papua New Guinea.

Sana Room 1 & 2 set for International Conference

The Sana Room can accommodated up to 600 in theatre style or 400 in banquet style.  The Sana Room has been used for some of the most important conferences in PNG including the 1995 Pacific Forum

 

The Sana Room divides into four smaller conference rooms, all with their own toilets, lighting, PA system, private entrances.  Equipment includes computer, video, 36mm, 16mm and overhead projectors, white boards, flip charts, multiple conference microphone and PA system, wireless microphones, piano, music instruments, lighting, rostrum and stage.


In addition to the conference room, there are secretarial offices and a Business Centre equipped with word processing, printers, copying machine and access to internet.
 
Madang Resort has been host for many prestigous conferences including World Bank, South Pacific Customs, AusAID, National Executive Council, PNG Governor's Conference, PNG National Tourist Conferences, National Health Conference, South Pacific Fisheries Authority, Bank of South Pacific, Mobil Oil,  United Nations, UNDP,  Australia-PNG Ministerial Bilateral Seminars, Austrade and many more.

Sana Room - BAT Dinner

The Sana Room is set up for a Banquet following a  successful launch by British American Tobacco at the Madang Resort.   Sana 1, 2 & 3 can be combined together to provide seating for up to 400.   There is a portable dance floor, lighting, sound system, grand piano plus a stage and PA system.

Sana Room Formal Setting Aus-PNG

The Sana Room 1 & 2 set up for formal international bilateral talks.  This formal setting can be set up for various numbers ranging from 12 - 18 - 24 - 32 - 40 & 48.  The tables are made from Madang Kwila Timber, executive conference chairs and on this arrangement the conference PA system is set up to provide all delegates their own speaker and microphone along with a rostrum with wireless microphones.   Advance notice is provided for this particular formal conference setting.

Secretarial and a business centre provide full conference facilities including wireless internet which is available in the Sana Room.

Flower arrangement using traditional canoes

A traditional canoe has been set up as the centre piece with Madang pottery, bilum bags and orchids from the Madang Resort orchid house which provide a regular supply of orchids for restaurants, guest rooms and conferences.

Both PNG Ministers were guests of the National Fisheries Authority who held their Pacific Tuna Conference in Madang.  They can be seen in front of a chef from RD Tuna preparing a yellow fin tuna for sashimi for guests of the conference.

The Madang Resort have several marquees available to provide venues for functions along the waterfront of the Madang Resort, in remote locations for private conferences, dinners and other trade shows.   Marquees are available for groups of 20 - 20 - 100 - 200 & 400.  Tables, chairs, PA system including full catering available.  The above marquee was set up to provide a venue for Polything Productions who have just completed making a movie in Madang.
