Madang Township
The Madang Township is considered one of the safest towns in the Pacific, the hotel is located just 500m from the post office within easy walking distance and it is perfectly safe to move around unescorted during the day
Restaurants
There are 3 restaurants. The famous 'Haus Win' specialises in Chinese & Pizzas the 'Janek Aben' offers full a-la-carte dining in air conditioned comfort, plus the 'Rukaen Japanese Restaurant', which is also airconditioned and provides Tapenyyaki, Sushi, Tempura style food for a select few with advance notice. There are three bars including the new 'Milek Aben Club Bar'.
The traditional 'haus win' restaurant is set alongside the sea providing cool sea breezes. The Restaurant serves Chinese Meals and Pizzas. On Sunday night, a special 'Sizzler Night" featuring BBQ seafood, steaks, chicken with buffet salad.
Special functions can be arranged in any of the restaurants or beside the pool, in the garden aboard one of our vessels or at Forum Park.
Facilities
The Madang Resort has an Olympic size salt-water swimming pool, a children's pool plus secluded pools in the Raffles Wing and Villas. The Dive Shop is located near the Resort Marina. Forum Park provides an excellent venue for cultural activities. In the main complex there are shops, an art gallery, MTS tours office, a business centre, hair salon restaurant, bar and access to the Sana Convention Centre and Conference Rooms.
In the grounds there is a 'Haus Tambaran' (Spirit House) where you can see carving, bilum and other handicraft being made by the Sepik people. There are rare native orchids within the grounds as well as aviaries, animals and birds indigenous to PNG content to remain in the confines of the resort grounds. A Waterfall provides water to a barramundi pond where you can observe barramundi which are so tame you can feed them by hand.
The resort operates sightseeing harbour cruises, village tours, trekking, fishing, diving, birding, canoes, jet skiing, water skiing from the marina.
